Our review

If you're on the lookout for a great ukulele that won't break the bank, any four-string from Kala's Satin Mahogany Series is the perfect option. With their impressive sustain and loud sound, these ukes pack a real punch. Plus, their natural satin mahogany finish with cream body binding gives each instrument a classic, rustic look . When I think ukulele, this range comes to mind. The Kala's Satin Mahogany Series is hard to beat.

And there is good reason: put simply, Kala know how to make great ukes. They are masters of making reliable, long-lasting instruments, always nailing the fundamentals. Year after year they make incredible ukes, and year after year people keep coming back-- beginners and pros alike.

Still not convinced? Well, what seals the deal for me is that elegant cream body binding. It accentuates the curved body and makes the subtle red tones of the mahogany pop. A masterstroke from Kala.

Kala Satin Mahogany Tenor Ukulele - Buying this uke was one of my better music acquisitions.

After playing a concert uke in the Mens Shed Band, I made a decision to get a tenor uke.
There are a number of concert ukes in the band and after hearing a tenor I wanted that slightly "deeper"? tone. ( Not sure that is the right word here however I am a drummer turned uke player, tone is a work in progress for me). I wanted to contribute to the overall tone of the band with the sound of the tenor uke. (That's still a work in progress) . However I liked the sound of the tenor when a colleague brought one to rehearsal. The tenor can be be slightly louder than the concert and that means I have to play better, (no air strumming). That's a plus from the purchase. The tenor is more comfortable on the neck due to its slightly larger size to the concert uke. AND this tenor uke is calling for me to become a better player. If it could talk, it would say "could do better" ( similar to my school reports).
I am happy with the purchase, the transaction was seamless, the questions I had were answered with an appreciative degree of patience.
Starting the uke journey on a basic Bondi uke I have prematurely graduated myself to this uke.
From my position in the music competencies in my retirement I owe it to this tenor to improve my playing. I want to live up to the quality and sound of the this uke. ( yep another work in progress)
I buy ukes and uke accessories through Ukulele Mate. The business is local , is in a tough industry and doing good work to keep the business in front of the buying public. I have been happy with the quality of the products and service supplied to date. .

Give me time to try this one!

As a beginner, I cannot detail the quality of the Kala tenor uke. Certainly the service provided by UkeleMate through the website, ordering and delivery was excellent.
Less direct marketing (especially flogging other ukes) between purchase and delivery would improve the experience though.

All Good

The Uke is good quality, the extras not much use. But the Kala Tenor Ukulele that I purchased is a beauty.
