They are fairly firm to start with but after some use (or a little bending back and forth) they soften up for a more mellow sound. With this pack of 6 you could break a couple in to supple them up and leave a couple for the times you want more attack or for plucking the strings.
You won't be sorry to have these in your case/bag so grab a set or two today; I bought a second pack to have on hand.
Sure, you can buy a Pickboy for around $3.50 each, but I reckon you'll find these good enough or even on par, for $2 each.

The picks are OK, although as a relatively new player (1 year)they are the only brand I have used.
